Looking Outwardly

Now is the time that God is calling us to look outward rather than merely inwardly focused.

"But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting anxiously for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to eternal life. And have mercy on some, who are doubting; save others, snatching them out of the fire; and on some have mercy with fear, hating even the garment polluted by the flesh." (Jude 1:20-23 NASB)

As we draw near to Him, He draws near to us, giving us freedom; freedom from ourselves to a greater awareness; awareness of what is going on around us; and empowers us to deal effectively with those who are weak, lost, broken, oppressed, even demonized, for the building up of the body and advancing His Kingdom.

Therefore, let us draw near to Him for the greater good of all.

"let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful; and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near." (Hebrews 10:22-25 NASB)
