Let Him Who Boasts

-->
"Now I exhort you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all agree and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be made complete in the same mind and in the same judgment. For I have been informed concerning you, my brethren, by Chloe's people, that there are quarrels among you. Now I mean this, that each one of you is saying, "I am of Paul," and "I of Apollos," and "I of Cephas," and "I of Christ." Has Christ been divided? Paul was not crucified for you, was he? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul? but God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong, and the base things of the world and the despised God has chosen, the things that are not, so that He may nullify the things that are, so that no man may boast before God. But by His doing you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption, so that, just as it is written, "LET HIM WHO BOASTS, BOAST IN THE LORD." (1 Corinthians 1:10-13, 27-31 NASB)

I still see so many people subconsciously putting different leaders on pedestals. Trading one teaching for another, or worse yet, blowing with every new wind of change...

We are not called to worship or become "followers" of specific leaders or teachers, but to be led by them... No pastor, preacher, prophet or other should take the place of Christ. The goal is that through our God-given authorities we might glean from them all that Christ would have us to understand, while we grow in the depth and the knowledge of Him ourselves.
This, not to say that we are or shall ever be above or equal to those leaders, but instead that they've been placed strategically over us for a time so that might become all that Christ has called us to.
